The facility at Inverkeithing is also one of the largest purpose-built ship breaking
facilities in Europe and, when appropriate, is still used for this activity.
The breaking facilities have been used to dismantle aircraft carriers, liners and
battleships over the years. The picture to the left shows the sad, but final, resting place
of a once great battleship.
